Net Zero & Carbon Reduction

Our Commitment to Net Zero

DAL-ENV-CRP-001
Version: 1.0
Baseline reporting year: 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026
Publication date: 1 September 2026
Next review due: 1 September 2027

Domestic-Air Ltd delivers ventilation, damp, mould and condensation remediation for social housing providers across the North West and Derbyshire. This plan sets out our commitment to achieving net zero, the emissions we generate, and the measures we apply on our contracts.
We're committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 and we recognise the importance of reducing the environmental impact of our operations and will continue to improve the way we manage energy, transport, waste and resources. We will measure our progress, introduce practical carbon reduction measures and review our plan annually.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases emitted before the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. This baseline is the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline year: 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026
Emissions source

Scope 1 — fleet fuel
Scope 1 — premises fuel
Scope 2 — purchased electricity
Scope 3 (Cat. 4) — upstream transportation and distribution
Scope 3 (Cat. 5) — waste generated in operations
Scope 3 (Cat. 6) — business travel
Scope 3 (Cat. 7) — employee commuting
Scope 3 (Cat. 9) — downstream transportation and distribution

Emissions have been calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard using the UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors for company reporting (2026). Fleet emissions are calculated from actual litres of fuel dispensed, evidenced by 464 fuel card transactions across the reporting period. Premises energy, waste, business travel and employee commuting are estimated from operational data using consistent assumptions, which will be replaced with measured data as our reporting matures. Downstream transportation and distribution is not considered material to our operations, as we install directly rather than distribute products to third parties.
Current Reporting Year Emissions
This is our baseline reporting year. Comparative data will be published from the 2026/27 reporting year onwards.
Emissions Reduction Targets
Domestic-Air Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
We have adopted the following interim targets, measured against our 2025/26 baseline:
Target
Measure & Date
Reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 25%

Reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 50%

Achieve Net Zero emission
58.2 tCO2e by 2030

38.8 tCO2e by 2035

Zero by 2050
We expect to deliver these reductions principally through the continued renewal of our vehicle fleet, improved job scheduling to reduce mileage, and energy efficiency measures at our two operating sites. Progress against these targets will be reported annually.
Carbon Reduction Projects
The following measures have been implemented since our baseline year:

Fleet renewal — a significant proportion of our van fleet has been replaced with newer, lower-emission vehicles, including the introduction of our first electric vehicle
Job scheduling and route planning through our Joblogic system, reducing mileage across our North West and Derbyshire operating area
Digital surveying and reporting, substantially reducing printed documentation
Waste segregation and recycling at our Audenshaw warehouse, including packaging and stripped-out ventilation units handled under WEEE arrangements
Consolidated deliveries through our wholesale supply network in place of multiple direct deliveries to site
Improved surveying accuracy, reducing abortive visits and repeat call-outs
Environmental Management Measures in Effect During Contract Performance
The following environmental management measures are in force across our contracts:

• Our Environmental Policy (DAL-POL-070) applies to all works and is reviewed annually
• Our Ethical Procurement Policy (DAL-POL-069) governs supplier selection
• We are CHAS accredited
• We specify low-energy continuous-running ventilation systems
• Waste arising from our works is segregated and recycled wherever practicable, with electrical items handled under WEEE arrangements
• Fleet mileage is monitored and job scheduling optimised to minimise travel between sites
Declaration and Sign-Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol Corporate Standard, and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.

How Our Work Reduces Our Clients’ Emissions
Our core service supports housing providers in meeting their own net zero and retrofit obligations:

• Correctly designed and commissioned ventilation reduces the heat lost when occupants open windows to control condensation, and cuts the energy wasted reheating damp building fabric
• Low-energy continuous-running and Positive Input Ventilation systems consume a fraction of the power of older intermittent units
• Effective damp and mould remediation extends the life of building fabric, avoiding repeat call-outs and reducing both material use and site visits
• Our compliance support for Awaab’s Law and Building Regulations Part F helps clients get the specification right first time
