Domestic-Air Ltd is proud to announce that we are now an accredited Real Living Wage employer.

This means every member of our team, from our back office staff in Denton to our surveyors, ventilation engineers and mould eradication operatives working in homes across the North West, will earn at least the Real Living Wage. The Real Living Wage is the only UK pay rate independently calculated each year based on what people actually need to live, covering essentials such as rent, food, transport and energy.

The current Real Living Wage rate, set by the Living Wage Foundation, is meaningfully above the Government's statutory National Living Wage. Unlike the legal minimum, the Real Living Wage applies to everyone aged 18 and over, recognising that younger workers face the same cost of living as everyone else.
Why this matters to us

Our business exists to make people's homes warmer, healthier and safer. We spend our days inside the properties of residents who are often themselves feeling the sharpest edge of the cost-of-living squeeze. It would be inconsistent of us to deliver that work through a workforce who weren't paid enough to meet their own. Becoming a Real Living Wage employer is a natural extension of the values we already hold: do the job properly, treat people fairly, and invest in the long term.

It also reflects the kind of business we want to be in our sector. Quality, safety-critical work in social housing depends on skilled, committed people. Paying a wage that genuinely reflects living costs helps us attract great people, keep them, train them up, and deliver the standard of service our clients and their residents deserve.
Joining a wider movement
In making this commitment, we join over 16,000 accredited Living Wage employers across the UK — including half of the FTSE 100 and thousands of small and medium-sized businesses like ours — who have chosen to go beyond the legal minimum. Together, the Living Wage movement has delivered pay rises to nearly half a million UK workers.

We're proud to add our name to that list, and prouder still of the team who make Domestic-Air Ltd what it is.
